Yoga mats from the Manduka Pro series may not provide the grip you want when the mat is new. This is because it is necessary to "break through" the top, protective layer. This layer breaks through with regular practice – so the more you use a PRO series yoga mat, the better it is! Or speed up this process with a salt scrub.

leave the salt on for 24 hours
then wipe off the salt with a soft cloth and water

Yoga mat maintenance and storage

It is important to always roll it from the outer side to the outside - this way you prevent the yoga mat from bending.

Do not expose the mat to direct sunlight, do not leave it in a hot and dry place, do not leave it in a car in the sun (this applies to all yoga mats).

After practicing yoga, when the yoga mat is wet and damp from sweat or water, be sure to dry the mat before rolling it up. Spread the mat out on the floor or hang it up to dry completely before rolling it up.

Cleaning the yoga mat

Manduka ProLite yoga mat clean with cold water and a gentle, non-aggressive detergent. Even better, use a yoga mat cleaner. Then you must dry it well.

Never wash the Manduka ProLite yoga mat in the washing machine, do not shower or vacuum it. Cleaning with sea salt is recommended from time to time (see the procedure in the video below).
