The Enlight brand comes to us from Croatia. The young couple, Dario and Atesa, often visited India and lived there for several years. The idea was born to give the "classic" copper articles a little visual embellishment and offer them on the EU market.

Dario and Atesa are still in direct contact with the manufacturers and therefore each of their products is:

  • produced fair-trade
  • quality is controlled
  • handmade, unique production

Water is extremely important for our immune system. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 75% of health problems worldwide could be avoided if we consumed enough water.

If I have my "favorite" water bottle, it means that the bottle is always with us on the road and thus we drink a sufficient amount of water throughout the day. At the same time, we ensure less waste, as we do not need to buy bottled water.

Drinking water from a copper bottle is beneficial for our body.

  • A copper surface is known to eliminate viruses and bacteria that come into contact with it within minutes.
  • When the water stands for 4-5 hours in the Enlight copper tank, copper water is formed. This water contains about 0.35 mg of copper per half liter. (For good immunity, the recommended minimum daily dose of the World Health Organization (WHO) is 0.9 mg for adults, and the upper limit is 10 mg.) So the mentioned amount is safe and good for our body, but dangerous for viruses and bacteria.
  • By drinking copper water, you create an "internal antibacterial shield" that circulates throughout the body and reduces inflammatory processes.
  • The optimal practice for anyone is to drink a liter of copper water a day and take breaks from time to time.

Can copper also be dangerous for our health?

Copper vessels have been used for thousands of years. In the past, they did not have sophisticated measurements, so they did not know the recommended daily doses, the dangers and the benefits of using copper. Everything was more "by feel".

They knew that when copper starts to take on a greenish color, it needs to be cleaned and only then used again. Otherwise, food and water taste bitter.

Today we know that copper excessively oxidizes when it comes into contact with acid. Foods with a PH value on the acidic side are often used in the kitchen (e.g. animal proteins, refined oils (margarine), wine, vinegar, certain types of canned food,...). It is not recommended to use copper utensils to prepare dishes from this type of food. It is especially dangerous when such foods are heated in copper containers, as toxic copper oxides are formed when they come into contact with acids.

Of course, copper cookware is still used in professional kitchens, where chefs know well when and how to use it. So definitely be careful using copper cookware.

We only drink water from a copper jug or glass!
