Cabaia functionality backpacks, computer bags
Cabaia comes to us from Paris! Who would know better what the right style is! A combination of fashion and functionality, hand in hand! And, of course, a great emphasis on eco-production, materials, transport...
Their mission is to create products that will inspire us every day, at every step. "Amazing everyday!"
We can choose from a rich selection of backpacks, bags, even school bags, toiletry bags, wallets, laptop bags, pencil cases... They have imaginative caps with interchangeable pompon. Colorful socks... They make imaginative and sustainable products. They love nature and animals so much that they are vegan.
The textile industry is one of the most polluting industries in the world, so there is always room for improvement. Today we hear a lot about green and vegan materials, with no one solution defined as better than the other. Therefore, it is important to explain our choices and our current thinking.
As of 2020, Cabaia has stopped using single-use plastics in its products.
Cabaia and plastic - Why ban plastic?
Plastic bags account for 1.4% of total plastic use. You might think it's not that big. Yes, indeed, but 80% of these plastic bags are not recycled: we throw a lot of them in nature. The result: they are a threat to nature and the environment in general, we don't need to remind you of the damage plastic causes in the oceans. In addition, polyethylene plastic bags take 200 to 400 years to disappear in nature. That's why Cabaia has done something for the planet, to the extent that they can.
No more plastic in Cabaia packaging.
At Cabaia, they use cornstarch bags. They are biodegradable within 24 months. You can even compost them. Cornstarch bags are also a way to combat gas emissions because the materials are plant-based. The only plastic component that remains today is the small element that attaches the sticker: the Cabaia team is working to find a long-term solution for this part as well.

Instead of using new plastic materials, they chose to manufacture the products with recycled polyester from old bottles.
Cabaia and transport
Transport is the second largest producer of greenhouse gases in the world. Due to time pressure, many companies choose express fast modes of transport, which are "ultra-polluting". Cabaia thinks differently: we'd rather take our time and focus on greener modes of transport.
An airplane generates 125 times more carbon emissions than a single car and 1,500 times more than a train.
At Cabaia, we want to move away from this fast fashion model, so we don't bring you a new collection every five minutes. We prefer to focus on timeless products and take the time to bring you real brand new products rather than products imposed by seasonal fashion. So Cabaia products don't need to go on a plane! They prefer to choose ship transport for long-distance destinations.
They also depend heavily on the train, the greenest means of transportation currently available. The most effective solution for reducing the carbon footprint is as much local production as possible. They are working in this direction, which is why they are currently setting up factories in Europe.
Cabaia and animals
Did you know that we humans make up only 0.01% of life on earth? Cabaia has focused on the care and well-being of animals since day one. Respect for our four-legged friends is deeply rooted in the brand.
Production of vegan products
All our products are made with respect for animals. In fact, 98% of the products are EVE VEGAN certified, an independent, official certification. Concretely, this means that all bags, all socks, all towels, all caps do not contain animal materials. There are still 2% Premium wool caps left! But the wool is also obtained from ethically certified breeders in Europe and without musseling.
In short, Cabaia is committed to creating animal-friendly products, and that makes our mascot cat, Marty, very happy!

By the way, Marty has lent his name to a great challenge: 1€ goes to the SPA (French Association for the Protection of Animals) for every post of our product on Instagram with this hashtag. Since the beginning and until 2021, they have donated more than €54,000 thanks to the cute faces of your four-legged friends.
With the launch of "Les Inséparables" socks for the welfare of animals
In 2018, they decided to partner with SPA (French Society for the Protection of Animals) and created a limited series of sock packs. Sale, €10/package, goes to the SPA! It was a great success, so they decided to make this campaign every year.
All this allowed the society to create a new shelter, build a dog park, take custody of many animals and provide them with all the necessary care and food. And all this thanks to you!
Standards and certifications
At Cabaia, they don't like labels. Except when it comes to labels that guarantee you the quality of the products. Today, they are very proud that all Cabaia products have OEKO-TEX and REACH certification. Most supplements are also EVE Vegan certified. But in concrete terms, what does this mean? OEKO-TEX Standard 100
is an international and independent label for every textile company that complies with the OEKO-TEX standard. This norm guarantees the quality of fabrics and the absence of harmful substances for the health of consumers. This norm has been determined on the basis of scientific criteria and laboratory tests. To obtain this label, Cabaia-o was assessed by an independent body, analyzed product samples and visited production sites.

REACH
is an EU regulation that prohibits the use of chemical substances above a certain limit. This restriction was established to protect human health and the environment. Every year, independent laboratories ensure that Cabaia's new materials are well below this limit. This means that Cabaia products are made without harmful substances.
EVE VEGAN - European Vegan Expertise
known as EVE VEGAN, is an official label run by a legitimate and independent body. It is a guarantee that the product is made without animal materials (leather, fur...). Except for our Premium wool caps, ALL Cabaia products are vegan! Proof that animal welfare is an important fight for us!
